The Harbor: The Port Liz Perspective
Every harbor exists for one purpose. To offer a place to rest, get what you need, and prepare for what comes next in the journey.
So it’s only fitting that we would call a Port Liz blog The Harbor.
The world of work is changing faster than most of us were prepared for. The rules that once organized our careers, the degree, the title, the ladder, the loyalty, are being rewritten in real time. Somewhere between the headlines and the hustle, many people are navigating major transitions without a map, a mentor, or a space to consider all the available alternatives.
The Harbor is that space.
Here you'll find data-informed perspectives on workforce trends, honest reflections on what it means to lead and grow in this particular moment, and an ongoing invitation to consider what your next chapter could look like, on your terms.
I'm Sienna Abdulahad, executive coach, leadership strategist, higher ed professional, and the founder of Port Liz. For nearly two decades I've worked at the intersection of human development, equity, and organizational change. I've sat across from emerging professionals who didn't yet know what they were capable of, and alongside seasoned leaders who knew exactly what they wanted but couldn't find their flow. That work never gets old. Neither does the moment when someone stops going through the motions and starts moving with intention.
Whether you're early in your career and trying to find your footing, mid-career and feeling the pull toward something different, or navigating a transition you didn't see coming, you've found the right place (I could have said port, but I didn’t).
Come in. Stay a while. And when you're ready to start your journey, I'll be here.
